Readers, who are you? Let’s find out!

Hello, dear readers,

We, the editing team of the “TheLaosExperience” blog, have been asking ourselves for a good while who you actually really are. With our Google Statistics tool on the backend of this blog, we have been following the rising numbers in the world distribution map and the new flags in the “most recent users” list. This is intriguing. What does this mean for real? We do not know.

That is why I, Sarah,  decided to explore these questions in my Master’s thesis: When you visit our blog, what are you particularly interested in? Which kind of post matters to you? What kind of content would you like to see more of?

I am Sarah Loehle, a Master’s student in secondary education (maths & English) at the Karlsruhe University of Education and co-author of the article about the “World Dance Calling” seminar in the summer semester of 2025. But for the last 2,5 years I have also been a pre-editor on this blog as part of my job as a student assistant for Prof. Isabel Martin. During that time, I have gotten to know the blog and many of our recent authors very well. I have truly enjoyed reading about all of these different perspectives and journeys, and learning new things along the way.

One key part of being a pre-editor for this blog is making sure that our posts are understandable, illustrated, annotated, and interesting to you, our readers. I always tried to keep that in mind, imagining what you may need, expect, and want. But now I want to ask you personally and directly.
